Dutch painter Piet Mondriaan, or Mondrian (in this more English/French friendly spelling an anagram of ‘I paint modern’) is by far one of my all time favourite artists. Here are some of his key works that are perhaps lesser known. Most of these can be seen in the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague.
Cycling across the Polder landscape between Haarlem & Schiphol airport; came across the bizarre town of Vijfhuizen with some modern architecture.
During my stay in London (2005-2011) I worked all over the city, and I made use of the situation to take lots of photos, regardless of what (cheap) camera I would have with me that moment.
Came across Marinus Fuit, this Haarlem artist in the local Haarlems Dagblad.
What struck me was some similar themes as my uncle Joop Polder from The Hague, namely; cityscapes avoid of people, dunes, and especially trams.

Last year I visited the Louwman Museum. Even if you don’t particularly like cars, this is incredible. The huge collection of the most beautiful cars in the world are housed in this amazing building, situated between The Hague and Wassenaar. Read more
